In 1988, Linda Schele commented on this glyph and the ones immediately preceding it (D9-D13), as well as the glyphs immediately following (C14-D17): "These two subordinate clauses are extensions of Kan-Xul's name phrase recording him as the child of Pacal and Lady Ahpo-Hel. Each clause is complete with a predicate so that new information introduced into the narrative appears in a separate clause (Schele, 1988)." |
