| Merle is the director of the current dig at Palenque, together with lead archaeologist Alfonso Morales and Mexico's Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia. Her Precolumbian Art Research Institute publishes important monographs in the field of Maya studies. Quickly adapting to the age of computers, Merle has put her rubbings on CD-ROM and developed a site on the Internet. |
