The stream then exits through a massively constructed archway. As Jim Eckhardt and Heather Hurst suggest in their report "Architectural Analysis in Western Palenque" (available on the Mapping Project homepage), the shape of this archway is similar to that of the Picota Stela, which stands at the edge of the plaza above the aqueduct.
