The name Jolja' ("at the head of the water") reflects the cave's location at the headwaters of the Ixtelja River. The headwaters are situated at the 900 meter mark, halfway up the east side of Misopa' Mountain. In the photograph, you are standing near the village of Los Angeles at the base of the mountain, looking out across a milpa, or cornfield.
