The red and black banding motifs that were painted on another conch trumpet from this site have been used on this one, but with a variant: notice the black fields with cross-like, white shapes that flank red, geometric motifs in the broad portion of the trumpet. The likelihood that these motifs had specific meanings is great but remains impossible to prove.
