This beautiful sculpture of a pair of ducks may have been inspired by direct observation of nature, as many species of ducks that would have lived in the lake environment of West Mexico are monogamous. Notice the spout behind the ducks' bodies, which would have served to pour liquid into and out of this imaginatively conceived double-chambered vessel.
